A HISTORY OF CREATIVITY & PERFORMANCE
- Marlene has a strong background in the performing arts and youth development. She founded and operated the School of Excellence, and has been involved in choreography and large-scale productions, including work associated with Sun City and Wits Theatre.
- She has also achieved significant experience in majorette and performance disciplines, with her work falling within the SAMCA environment and its recognised sporting framework. Her experience has extended beyond South Africa into East Africa, where she became involved in introducing and developing internationally recognised sporting disciplines that had not previously been trained in that environment.
EAST AFRICA — A SIGNIFICANT CHAPTER
- One of the defining chapters of Marlene's journey was her work in East Africa, particularly Tanzania and Zanzibar.
- Through her Wakati Wako Kwa Sasa initiative, she worked on developing athletes and introducing internationally recognised sports to the East African environment. Her publicly documented profile states that she was appointed President of an international league recognised by Olympic structures in America and South Africa.

- Marlene also became the owner and founder of Moment In Time Hotel in Zanzibar.
- Her experience there extended beyond hospitality. During the COVID period, the hotel opened its doors to children from the surrounding village, where workshops were hosted around sport, arts and culture.
